Boston Tea Party

Boston Tea Party will be hosting an ongoing series of exhibitions and events at the cafe - please drop in for more information.
Current artist: Kate Lowe

Kate uses oil paint combined with chalk, oil pastel, emulsion and acrylic on canvas and board. She feels a strong drawing background informs all her work, working intuitively, building up layers of colour around her drawings.

 

Kate picks up colour everywhere and is continually inspired by the patterns and compositions all round her, collecting fabric, cuttings, and pieces of the actual landscape, anything that might help her in the studio.

 

Her work ranges from still lives to landscapes, all a riot of colour and energy. She uses colour intuitively and lets the colours evolve organically as she paints.
