Cabinets of Curiosity is a group exhibition which invites the viewer to enter the private world of the mythical and mysterious collector, Sebastian de Bois d’Argent. Upon entering the room visitors are confronted with numerous objects and artworks carefully organised and arranged from floor to ceiling in an attempt to create a unique environment reflective of both Sebastian’s tastes and interests and the wondrous potential that often lurks within objects waiting to be released. The works presented have largely been commissioned for the purpose of the exhibition and aim to provoke discussion around the concepts of selection, collection, memory and display.
