Grass roots

Over the last few weeks I have been navigating the BANES council to organise a  'behind the scenes tour' and explanation of the recylcing centre in Bath. This took longer than anticipated as I had  to track down the right manager and their return from holidy. Last week I spent a interesting afternoon with the team. It was a hot and humid day with a cacophony of smells wafting in the late summer air! The council have a workforce on the ground that assist the public in sorting their recycling into different zones. these waste products are then broken down further for reuse i.e. the garden waste is sent to a company in Somerset'Green Ore' who specialise in creating composte on a large scale. It was a fascinating afternoon.
