Keynsham Arts Group is a collective of five photographers brought together to document a month of art and craft events around Keynsham.
This exhibition, part of the Bath Fringe Festival programme, is a culmination of their work and the creativity of Keynsham.
Tilly May has worked primarily with video; however since graduating from Bath Spa University (BA Hons, Fine Art Media) in 2008 she has worked increasingly with photography both as a form of creative expression and documentation. She then went on to win the prestigious 'Dartington Photographer of the year' award (2009) through which she now has a years contract with Visit South Devon as their main photographer. She has had various exhibitions throughout South Devon, London and Bath.
Richard North studied as an engineer rather than an artist, and recently rediscovered the joy of shooting film as well as digital photographs. He loves to picture people going about their everyday lives and, as here, occasionally letting their hair down!
Babs North is a photographer working exclusively in the digital domain. She is completely self-taught, drawing inspiration from her love of people-watching and enjoyment of nature. Until a few days ago she had never exhibited her work in public; so this event represents her 'coming out' as a photographic artist.
Dave Cable started out in photography 5 years ago. Within a short space of time he secured his first contract for album artwork in Canada which lead to a number of design projects with bands in the USA, UK and New Zealand. Over the past year he has been heavily involved in writing, graphic, art and design projects with authors and bands. Dave began offering promotional, live photographic and design solutions to bands and individuals after covering the final 2 years of the Ashton Court Music Festival. He also covers work as a model photographer in London and the Midlands and as from late 2009, under the name of Arcadia Photographic has expanded to cover work as an events/parties and wedding photographer.
Emma Geen discovered her love of photography 4 years ago during her art and design foundation year at the City of Bath College. Though she went on to study Philosophy and Psychology at university she kept up her passion for photography as time permitted and now hopes to start doing some part-time work as a photographer. She is also a keen painter and has recently started trying to promote and sell her art.
