Three Room Cinema Club

Conflict | Everybodies | Open

3 rooms, 3 themes, an evening of discussion | Thursday 1st June | 44AD Artspace, 4 Abbey Street, Bath BA1 1NN

Focusing on a visual arts approach to moving image, Three Room Cinema Club will present a playlist of films for each theme in three separate rooms. The viewer will move between spaces for the full experience, and we’ll open discussion about the pieces around our pop-up bar.

Inviting submissions - deadline 30/04/17

Inviting films of any style, genre or format (non-linear, animated, low-fi, high-fi, biog, docu, audio-focused, split screen, accidental…) to fit one of the following themes: Conflict | Everybodies | Open.

Conflict | to come into collision or disagreement; be contradictory, at variance, or in oppoition; clash. A mental striggle arising from opposing demands or impulses.  

Everybodies | inspired by Michel de Certeau’s ‘The Practice of Everyday Life’ *

Open | with no theme, allowing anyone whose film might not fit, but whose work deserves it, to be seen.

Free submission | deadline Sunday 30th April | All will be notified of selection by 7th May

*Inspired by a recent trip to the Future Imperfect Symposeum in Plymouth, and artist Anna Schober’s keynote presentation ‘Tramps and Taxi Drivers: Particular Faces, Universal Appeal and Committed Audiences’
