Pint of Science Festival 19-21st May

What is Pint of Science?
The Pint of Science festival aims to deliver interesting, fun and relevant cutting-edge science talks in an accessible format to the public - in the pub! We want to provide a platform which allows people to discuss research with the people who carry it out. It is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers and was established by a community of postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers in 2012.
The festival takes place over three days simultaneously in multiple pubs. In May 2013 there were 15 pubs in London, Oxford and Cambridge involved, with each pub hosting an event every night of the festival. In total, there were 45 events and nearly 90 speakers.
The next Pint of Science festival will take place Monday 19th - Wednesday 21st May 2014. They will present four topics:
- Matters of the Mind (neurosciences and psychology)
- Understanding our Bodies (life sciences)
- Chemistry & Physics
- Planet Earth (earth sciences)
Pint of Science will be in 44 pubs across 8 different cities in the UK, and internationally have expanded to France, USA, Switzerland, Australia and the Republic of Ireland.
