The Bath Open Art Prize (BOAP) is organised by Fringe Arts Bath (FaB) and not by the 44AD artspace venue team
Sending your artwork to us
Delivery in person (preferred) to the gallery:
44AD artspace, 4 Abbey Street, Bath B1 1NN (see directions below)
You will be asked to take packaging away with you.
Drop-off times:
Sun 11 October 5pm - 8pm
Mon 12 October, 10am - 2.30pm
Can I deliver my work on a different date? No, as the Fringe Arts Bath team must be there to receive works. Anyone else in the gallery will not be connected with FaB.

Train / Bus: 10min walk from the train / bus stations
By car:
there are several loading bays opposite 7 Terrace Walk, BA1 1LN (commonly known as Bog Island)
these have a 20min drop-off time limit
44AD artspace is a short walk along York Street, a pedestrianised area
we have a trolley you can use for more awkward artworks
You can also walk from many of the city’s car parks.

While your work is with us
All works must be labelled on the reverse with:
please indicate which way is ↑ ‘up’ ↑
your name
artwork title
edition number (if applicable)
price / nfs

All works must be ready to hang, either with a string across the back or mirror plates.
All works coming via post must be well wrapped with packaging suitable for returning the work, and include return postage and labels.
We cannot store artworks after the show, please make sure necessary arrangements are in place for return of work.

Sales and payment
A commission of 20% on all sales will be shared between the venue and FaB.
You will be informed as soon as possible of any sales.
You will receive money from any sales within 3 months.
All sold works will remain on show for the full exhibition dates.
Works don’t have to be for sale, simply indicate NFS (not for sale)

Insurance
Fringe Arts Bath Ltd provides Public Liability Insurance cover.
You, the Artist, are responsible for insuring your work.
Fringe Arts Bath Ltd is not responsible for any damage to work occurring during transportation, installation or display.

FaB reserves the right not to hang any artworks for any reason, including:
works deemed unsuitable for the audience (please discuss with us in advance if needed)
works deemed unsafe to hang due to condition of the work, framing or fixings
the work received is not that which was selected
the work differs significantly from the image & description submitted during the application process
the work arrives after the exhibition opening date
collecting your work from us

Can I send a courier on a different date?
No, the security team can only hold works on that date, Weds 2 Nov 2026.
Invigilation
Please let us know if you are able to invigilate via the form below. This allows you to spend time in the gallery and engage with visitors, the FaB team and fellow exhibiting artists. We can finalise dates with you when you drop off your work.
Times are : 12noon-3pm or 3-6pm throughout the exhibition, 16 to 31 October.
