The Stitch That Bit Back is a bold contemporary textile exhibition presented as part of Fringe Arts Bath Festival 2026. Curated by Chlöe Savage and Katarína Orolínová, the exhibition brings together international artists working across embroidery, weaving, lace, felt, sculpture, and experimental fibre practices.
Featuring artists including Tanya Bentham, David Morrish, and Beáta Gerbócová, the show explores textiles as sites of resistance, repair, disruption, and transformation. Rejecting ideas of softness as passive, the exhibition celebrates stitch, fibre, and cloth as politically charged, emotionally resonant, and materially powerful forms of contemporary artistic expression.
