This is an exploration about different communities. Is it the people or the infrastructure or the people? What would we like to be in our communities?
The exhibition includes audiovisual work to illuminate the art and includes poetry from the eagerly awaited anthology; Community. From the spoken word event, based at the Bell.
Exhibiting Artists and Groups:
Bath University Crochet Society, Dawn Handy, Debbie Beale, Gillian Davies, Jessie Li, Tom Stevens.
Tom Stevens and Gillian Davies use drawing and digital tools to develop art that explores different aspects of tented, transient communities either as refugees or festival attendees. tomstevensart.com
Bath University Crochet Society uses crochet to form a community that form community bonds in a joint project but celebrates individual creativity and well being. su-crochetsoc@bath.ac.uk
Dawn Handy is a community artist from a multi-cultural background. She works with a diverse community of local people exploring mosaics, colour and diversity. They use recyclable materials to give a holistic view of community. Insta @dawnhandyart
Jessie Li has produced performance art, filmed to share the journey of her evolving community as it intergrates with our UK communities.

Debbie Beale is a story teller that uses words, performance and visual arts to share individual and community voices. She is creative director / producer for a variety of projects including the puppet theatre company Debdo Adventures, Spoken word event Chimes and the Dissenters Players. She is an Emerge resident at Bath Spa University.
Debbie’s art includes multi medium sculptures and masks.
