Since July 2022, twelve artists dialogue long distance using the international language of art. ODYSSEY shares themed artwork reflecting life before and during the war, alongside heartfelt hope for peace.

About Artists in Dialogue
Artists in Dialogue (AiD) is a communication-through-art project established in the summer following the full scale invasion of Ukraine on 24th February 2022.
Five British artists local to Frome, Somerset + seven Ukrainian artists displaced across Europe & Ukraine share their thoughts, feelings & experiences online through spoken dialogue (with the essential expertise of an interpreter) & visual dialogue (artwork created & uploaded to a digital platform accessed by all project artists).
A strong bond has formed between the artists with the original, urgent aim to enter into open, mutually supportive dialogue remaining the key focus.
The project has developed through phases. Each phase lasts approximately a year, reviewed & the focus for the next phase discussed & agreed.
Phase I: War Vocabulary.
Phase II: Vocabulary of Hope.
Phase III: Three Dimensional Portraits of AiD Artists - Past, Present & Future; sharing our artwork created before, during & after the war.
Future phases as yet unknown yet fast approaching.
AiD is not-for-profit, funds raised enable the project to continue & come from a number of sources; donations, sponsorship, membership (Frome-based artists), the sale of project limited edition prints & original artwork. The British artists work tirelessly to generate income for the project giving their time, skills & commitment freely & willingly.
Circumstances have provided a project with practical, successful ways of working that is both sustainable, replicable & shared through exhibitions, gatherings & talks.
