"The New Vision"
“The New Vision” is an invitation to artists interested in exploring an evolved human perception of reality.
The pitch centers on how rapidly accelerating environments and technologies subtly reshape our collective consciousness and alter how we experience the world.
As systems advance, they influence awareness, behaviour, and meaning in unseen ways.
This call invites artists to imagine new futures and consider how perception, attention, and states of awareness might transform in response to shifting environments, emerging tools, and changing relationships between humans, machines, nature, and culture, across time, space, identity, ethics, imagination, responsibility, and possibility in an interconnected future ahead.
Curated by Edward Olds
Ed Olds is a visual artist working with photography and moving image, based in the southwest of England.
His practice centers on analogue and practical darkroom processes, which he uses to create surreal and psychologically charged imagery. Through experimentation with traditional photographic techniques, his work explores themes of identity, perception, and consciousness, questioning how reality is constructed and experienced.
Olds is particularly interested in the relationship between inner states of awareness and external environments, using the camera as both a documentary and speculative tool. His work invites viewers to reflect on shifting perceptions and evolving modes of seeing.
HOW TO APPLY
Fringe Arts Bath Festival will take place 22 May to 6 June 2026

Free submission. All are welcome to apply, of any age, status, and from anywhere in the world.
If selected, we ask Artists for a £25 contribution (like crowdfunding) and to give some of their time, as we are all volunteers.
