A group exhibition celebrating the beauty and presence of trees
TREE is an exhibition featuring 8 selected artists who were invited by Roseberry Road Studios to submit artwork inspired by our relationship with our arboreum friends.
The exhibition includes paintings, sculptures and photography by local, national and international artists - Joe Byerley, Claire Clark, Rodney Harris, Florien Hazenberg, Tink Munro, Myrna Quinonez, Kirsty Thomas, Diana Zapata Mejia.
Each artist was free to interpret the theme in any way they chose, personal, environmental or aesthetic, giving a fascinating insight into their individual relationship with trees to create an intriguing mix of ideas and different practices in one exhibition.
To support the exhibition there is a programme of events to inform and inspire the local community, including workshops with infant and primary schools in the area, to encourage the children to be a future force for nature.
We are working with the charity More Trees Banes who will be sharing their environmental knowledge and care of trees in seed planting sessions with local children.
More Trees Banes have kindly donated a beautiful Silver Birch tree which we plan to plant in our riverside garden.
We thank Nina Harrison-Leins, Exhibition Manger at The Holburne, for her time and support in helping Louise Rushford, Exhibition Manager at RRS, with the curation for this show.
