PILLOWTALK

PILLOWTALK

Pillowtalk. Photo by Timo Kerber. Model Aweng Chuoi.

The call-out to Artists:

This is an invitation to embrace your natural slutness, and rest. Leave the constant slog, the pointless endless cleaning, grab a pillowcase/cushion cover, and grab a pillow case or cushion cover and stitch your thoughts on REST…..Nap, doze, siesta, catnap, snooze, kip, slumber, forty winks, shut-eye. Are you getting enough? If you are menopause, of course you bloody aren’t…

PILLOWTALK is an OPEN CALL for everyone everywhere to join in. The call-out has already begun as the first group of REST-themed pillowcases are being created for POW Thanet. From here the project will expand and travel, giving contributors more of a chance to view the project in person.

Building from the tremendous success of our collaboration with the Domestic Dusters project last year, we wanted to give another opportunity for folk to be a part of PEG.

So have a nap, and then get stitching.

Curated by Profanity Embroidery Group

We are the Profanity Embroidery Group, and we do exactly as it says on the tin – we embroider profanities. Some people think we are besmirching the gentle art of needlecraft with our puerile potty mouths – we know this ‘cos they like to tell us so. Kathy Burke said we were like a Punk version of the WI, and we are rather proud of that description.
Based in Whitstable, Kent, we are a group of 30 sweary stitchers, we make regular exhibitions of ourselves.
